Unsponsored-Quince Cashmere Sweaters Review-$50-$59

Quince (previously named Lastbrand) is an SF brand that I discovered through Instagram ads late 2019, and since then have been obsessed with them. Upon writing this review, I currently own their T shirts and also the other cashmere crewneck and mockneck as well that I purchased myself. What makes them special is that they have no middleman; the products are made and shipped directly to the customer from the factory. Their philosophy revolves around fair pricing, luxury quality, and essential design. They’re a small brand, and their pieces that they have right now are simple yet timeless, which is something I gravitate towards. I’ve also been making practical steps to streamline my closet, having a more “capsule wardrobe” kind of mindset. They are also VERY transparent with how they price each and every item so if you’re interested in hearing my review, here it is!

Performance/Style:

Maybe this shouldn’t be as important to me as it is…but shipping is ALWAYS free and so are exchanges within 365 days. Are you interested yet?

Just for reference, I weigh around 110lbs, 5’4. First time ordering I felt like I was ordering blind because there were no reviews on sizing/quality, so I gave it a go and ordered my normal size-a small. Turns out, even for a thin girl, I had to return (free btw) and exchange for an M. M fits just right for me, hits right below the hip, sleeves at the wrist. It’s not fitted nor boxy/oversized; the most vanilla sweater ever. And to me, that’s the most versatile. However, I will say that the sizing is tricky because I had to size up for the cashmere sweaters, yet the cotton tees were true to size. This brand isn’t the most forgiving for other body types, and I can see that potentially being the biggest downfall of the brand. If you have a longer torso or want a more oversized fit, consider sizing up 2 sizes.

I own the black mock neck, cream v neck (this one was gifted), and black cashmere crew, and I love all of them. They’re simple, way softer than wool which is nice, staple pieces that are very versatile! I’ve worn them on breezier summer walks, under winter jackets in the snow, by itself in fall, so I’ve gotten quite some wear out of them! I’ve looked around on countless sites for cashmere sweaters during the fall & wintertime, but they were often so much more expensive! Not to mention sustainability also adds to the cost, but Quince hand picks factories that ensure fair wages for their workers while making their products that reduces environmental damage. It’s a little vague on the website on what this means, so I’m curious to know what their standards are regarding sustainability.

Customer Service:

The staff is very prompt with responding to emails! I had no issues except that once a piece I wanted went out of stock and I had to wait a couple weeks for it to restock. However, the staff were communicative throughout the whole process. I do plan on ordering more from them in the future.

Returns/Exchanges:

Exchanges are always free, and easily initiated online. No need to email customer service. This wasn’t always the case, but returns are free (with very few exceptions such as customized jewlery) within a year’s time, also initiated online. Here are the policies regarding returns.

Verdict:

I love their quality, their simplicity, their affordability! They’re so transparent with their pricing, and for a consumer, that gives me a lot of comfort that maybe I don’t have to sacrifice quality for affordability. But honestly sizing can be pretty tricky and they don’t carry any plus sizes as of right now since they’re a very small business. I really hope they do in the future though! The only negative thing I would say is that I honestly think they should redo their sizing because for me, I have to size up for cashmere pieces while the tees it seemed true to size. It’s not the most inclusive for different body shapes, and I hope that changes in the future. It’s worth looking into since exchanges and returns are free. *2024 Update: It’s been 4 years of ordering from Quince and I can honestly say I like most of their stuff. They have expanded their range into household/kid clothes/decor items and it’s been cool watching them grow!
