Performance:

On their website it says the following:

EXPECTATION Unprecedented moisture, vibrant color, and long-lasting shine. Zero stickiness, zero discomfort.

And that’s exactly what it is. Before this product, my favorite lip gloss of all time was the NYX butter glosses from the drugstore. While I still love that one and use it often, this one by Michelle Phan is my new favorite. The texture is gel-like and silky, never sticky or uncomfortable. So much so that it makes you want to press your lips together just because of how good it feels! This isn’t the glossiest lip gloss out there, but I do think the gloss this gives is a little bit more sophisticated. This lip gloss can be sheered out and can be built up to get that super-pigmented color if desired. I love the packaging: simple and chic, and easy to use.

At first, I was afraid that the color would be too brown for me, but I bought it hoping that it could be sheered out and that it would pull more more warm-toned than cool. I happily found out that this 1. can be sheered out and 2. isn’t too cool against my skin tone so it won’t make me look sick or like I put a shade of concealer too dark on my lips. Whew! Overall, I love this color and like almost all other lip glosses plays well with whatever else you have in your collection. If you have a lot of pinks, you can tone it down with this lip gloss; if you have lip liners, just slap this on top for a bolder look. I tend to stick with more subtle, MLBB kinds of lip products (which usually means pinky-browns), but I could see any girl, whether they’re going for MLBB or not, loving this! Very easy and versatile!

Verdict:

Even though the price jumped up from $17-$20, this is still worth the price to me. The formula is unique and is deserving of all the hype and love it gets! I might just pick up another one…The shade range is also just on point!

I really do recommend the EM Cosmetics glosses! I’m sure there’s a lot of drugstore versions that are very similar! Like this NYX one that’s only ~$5.
