Cosrx Ultimate Moisturizing Honey Overnight Mask-Retail ~$12

Grabbed this for $1 when Beautytap was doing their $10off+free shipping event. So since I didn’t have any hydrating masks, I immediately grabbed this one. I own almost every single Cosrx product so I looove everything Cosrx. But unfortunately this didn’t work out for me.

Performance:

Previously, I’ve used propolis skincare products (review here on IG) and loved hot hydrating it was for my skin. And on top of that, I had high hopes for this particular mask. I’ve seen tons of reviews and everyone raves about how their skin wakes up glowy and moisturized! When I got this, initially I was surprised that it came in a gel texture. But I thought “alright great! I don’t like heavy moisturizers much so this will be a lightweight, intensely hydrating mask”. But honestly after using this in my last step of my PM skincare routine, I just felt like this was a gel, lightweight moisturizer. I don’t think it’s any more moisturizing than my gel moisturizers that I already own, and I didn’t see why or how this could be an overnight mask. I actually felt like this was less hydrating than regular moisturizers I already have so I neglected this product for the longest time before giving it away.

I’m still perplexed by this product honestly. Like WHY. WHY is this so hyped because for my oily-combo skin it did NOTHING. But I guess this just goes to show that everyone is different. I have a friend who has dry skin and looves this mask so all I can say is, this didn’t work for me. I felt the SAME exact way about the very popular Laneige sleeping mask (Review here). Totally didn’t work for me but somehow it’s a cult favorite.

Verdict:

Nope. This is so affordable, and if you want to try this, might as well. But this did nothing for my skin. I mean, maybe as a lightweight moisturizer? But honestly I have ones that do an ever better job than this one.

Save Some $:

I’m not really sure what to say here since this is the most affordable mask out there. But if you are on the market for a sleeping mask, my suggestion is to save your money and grab the Glow Recipe Avocado Sleeping Mask ($45 @ Sephora) when you have a bigger budget for it. Or a more- hydrating-than-this moisturizer is the Cosrx Birch Juice Moisturizer (~$20).
