Circcell Mandarin Cleansing Milk-Retail $45

Circcell is a luxury skincare brand that is "free from fragrances, parabens and harsh chemicals, and are never tested on animals." They strive to make products that perform consistently no matter what environmental condition, can be used multiple ways, and travel-friendly. A month ago, they gifted me this product to try out to give a full review. As always, all opinions are my own, and the verdict is me putting myself in your shoes and based on whether or not I'd buy this full price.

Performance

The scent of this product is one I thoroughly enjoyed every single time of use. It's non-surprisingly a natural fresh, citrus scent because it's infused with mandarin, grapefruit, and orange oils. The plastic bottle makes it easy to squeeze out product and I find that I only need a nickel sized amount for the entire face. The texture won't foam at all, but is a creamy and thick consistency, easily spreadable.

There are so many times that a product claims to double cleanse, but just cannot take off makeup as claimed. So before using this, I was not expecting it to do a good job, but thankfully I was wrong. After taking off waterproof eye makeup, I'll work this into damp skin. (This will take off your waterproof makeup off, but you'd really have to go at it for awhile, so I recommend first using a eye/lip makeup remover first before going in with this. )I find that this does a great job and removing non-waterproof makeup and after rinse-off there's no residue, and my skin surprisingly feels quite clean, even though I skipped the oil cleansing step. I'm VERY loyal to the double cleansing method, and while I'm simply paranoid of not cleansing well enough, this did a great job! As claimed by the brand, my skin didn't feel overstripped or tight, just clean.

Now for the reducing discoloration claim, I honestly can't attest to that because every single day I use brightening products so any brightening of the skin I see I wouldn't be able to tell if it's from this product or, say, my vitamin C serum.

Verdict

Surprisingly, even at $45 for 120mL, yes. Especially for someone who is too lazy to double cleanse and is willing to pay a little more per oz for a cleaner, more luxurious product that does the job of 2, this is a great one. And because of that, that automatically makes it travel-friendly! Now, I will say that I personally won't be repurchasing this, but that's only because I can't stop (and won't stop) double cleansing in my skincare routines-it's an ingrained habit by now. So there's no need for a $45 multi-tasking cleanser.  No doubt, though, I am genuinely surprised at how this superseded my expectations on a dual-cleansing product. And I will happily use this until the last drop.

Save Some $:

Most of you know that I love the Cosrx low pH cleanser. But if you're looking for a great affordable cleanser that'll do both the first and second cleanse...I'll get back to you on that.

Anyone have suggestions on double-cleanse-in-1 products?
