Benton Aloe Soothing Mask Pack-Retail $24/10pc

This sheet mask is a new release from Benton (along with the Aloe Toner & Aloe Propolis Soothing Gel) and they've generously sent this to me to review. It's advertised to be gentle, hydrating, great for sensitized/dry/itchy skin, and designed to hydrate and calm the skin. I didn't have irritated skin, so I can't testify to the calming effects, but I can to the hydrating claims.

*Sodium PCA/Sodium Hyaluronate/Beta-Glucan are all potent hydrators for the skin. Sodium PCA is similar to Sodium Hyaluronate while Beta-Glucan attracts even more moisture to your skin than Hyaluronate does.

Performance:

Let me first say that the first 2 ingredients have very high water content (hence the waterier consistency), which I'm not all that excited about when we're talking about ingredient lists. However, this sheet mask does contain Beta-glucan, sodium hyalouronate, and Sodium PCA, all which attract moisture from the environment to your skin so in the end, my skin did feel hydrated. Two practical tips to remember in light of this:

1. While masking, don't sit under the sun because the water content is going to evaporate way too fast!

2. After removing this mask, add a moisturizer on top to seal everything in rather than letting the high water content in this sheet mask from evaporating off your skin.

When I tested this I didn’t have irritated skin, but it did really hydrate my skin as advertised. Since this is oil-free it didn’t leave as sticky of a residue as some other sheet masks out there containing oils. If you've tested this out while having irritated/angry skin please let me know how it worked out for you!

The fit of the sheet mask is pretty standard, although I will note that the nose part wasn't too awkwardly big so that it prevented me from breathing, which I find to be the case of quite a few sheet masks out there.

Verdict:

Yes.  For ~$2.40/sheet mask, it isn’t my favorite and didn't wow me at all, but still worth it.  Having said that, I still appreciate that it's gentle, friendly for all skin types, while still providing the hydration that every skin would need and want. A good pick to bring with you during these hot summer days, since aloe is good at soothing the skin. This is a good one to try out.

Save Some $:

Try the Peach & Lily Calm sheet mask at CVS for $2.49. It's cheaper than than the Benton Aloe sheet mask if you don't want to commit to buying an entire 10pc pack. And on top of that CVS frequently has sales so look out for those if you're interested. I have a short review of it on my Instagram @worthitbeautyblog here.
