Packaging:
This oil is packaged in a frosted glass bottle with a glass dropper. Appropriate simplistic-luxe packaging.
* Since the packaging is see-through be sure to store this away from the light to prevent it from getting rancid. (This goes for all oils) If the oils are stored and used properly, it should last about 2-3 years.
They seem to have upgraded their packaging recently into a pump applicator which is a plus!
Performance:
The purpose for this product is to massage out tight muscles post-workout. For me, however, since I don't work out consistently, I just used it on myself and my husband on a lazy day since we both have knot-filled tight shoulders. I loved the scent of this, and even more was a fan of the skin-loving ingredients in here. The scent wasn't overpowering or off-putting, just fresh and natural.
Apricot kernel oil is great emollient oil high in vitamin E that hydrates and softens the skin. Sweet almond oil (a heavier oil) is high in D&E vitamins and high in oelic acid which is suitable for super dry skin. (Does this ingredient remind anyone of the Loccitane almond shower oil?) Jojoba seed oil is a lighter oil that seals in water to the skin. The mint in here isn't too strong, so it won't leave you feeling freezing while application. The main scent comes from the lemongrass oil which has a relaxing effect aids in circulation. If you want to know the benefits for every single ingredient, look at their oil glossary.
Given that you use this on large areas of your body, I used half a bottle quite quickly. Since there are both lighter and heavier oils in the formula, it won't sink into the skin too fast. This is actually a good thing so you don't need to keep reapplying over and over again. And at the same time you won't feel like a grease ball afterward.
Verdict:
This is a great product! I love that the brand gave a lot of thought into the the formula and didn't add filler oils or anything potentially irritating. Their philosophy is to preserve the quality by making small batches using 100% pure oils, which explains the higher price tag. But especially for the category of oils for the skin, I believe you get what you pay for! If the size is a drawback for you, mix it in with your favorite body cream to prolong your usage!
