Lively T-Shirt Bra-Retail $35

In high school I remember going to Target to buy for bras. And then in college, I started to going to Victoria's Secret for bras (a huge upgrade). While there are some pieces that are major staples in my wardrobe, I wish I didn't have to wait for the 2x/year semi-annual sale that Victoria's Secret does. I seriously don't ever buy bras unless they're super-discounted during these sales. But then I heard of Lively, which markets their products as simple and comfortable...the two things that are the most important thing to me bra-wise. Since my simple VS black T shirt bra has broken after many years, I thought I'd give this Lively one a try. Compared to VS the pricing is a lot more affordable year-round. While I am a Lively brand ambassaador, I'm still going to be 100% honest with you on how I feel about their products, hence this blog post. Definitely hoping to try more from them though this review isn't a favorable one.

Specs:

  • Material: 85% Nylon/15% Spandex
  • Type: Classic Underwire
  • Color: Black (there are 3 other shades)
  • Sizing: I picked the same size as I wear for VS and it fit just fine.
  • Has a J hook in back to transform straps into a racerback

Performance:

This bra has a simple, classic design that has a hook in the back giving it the ability to transform into a racerback. From the front it looks like any plain black bra, but the back also has a touch of cute lace detailing that I appreciated. I was really excited to receive this in the mail, thinking that it was going to be one of the most comfortable bras that have a wire. I was so wrong. I didn't even have to put it on for even 15 minutes and I already wanted to take it off because the wire was too rigid and didn't have enough fabric padding around it to make it more comfortable. Imagine wearing this all day! Other than that, all the clasps seemed good-quality and sturdy.

I'm not saying Lively as a brand sucks, I'm just saying that this particular product didn't work out for me and doesn't match how it was advertised in my opinion. I'm thinking of giving Lively another shot with one of their wireless bras to try out. Can't go wrong with wireless right? Or can you?

Verdict:

I think after this very short blog post you can expect that this verdict be an obvious no. Lively advertises their products to be high-style and comfort, and while I'd agree it's stylish, this one didn't cut it comfort-wise. And that was the deal-breaker for me.

Save Some $:

You know how I was talking earlier about how I only buy bras on sale during the Victoria's Secret Semi-Annual Sale? Well it's going on right now. Haha.
